Ultra-High Pressure Filter Press
Standard filter presses operate at 6-10 bar. While sufficient for many materials, this pressure often fails with fine-particle sludges, municipal waste, or deep cone thickener underflow. The result? Wet, sloppy cakes that are expensive to transport and dispose of.
Our High-Pressure Filter Press is a beast of a machine. Reinforced to withstand feeding pressures up to 2.5 MPa (25 Bar) or even higher, it forces water out of the tightest capillary structures, yielding a hard, dry cake that standard machines simply cannot produce.
Why Go High Pressure?
1. Maximum Volume Reduction:
- Reducing cake moisture from 75% to 55% cuts your sludge volume in half.
- Save 30-50% on hauling and landfill fees annually.
2. Handle “Un-Dewaterable” Sludge:
- Ideal for sticky, fine, or compressible materials (e.g., biological sludge without lime).
- Achieves results comparable to thermal drying but at a fraction of the energy cost.
3. Round Plate Technology (Optional):
- For extreme pressures (>20 bar), we offer High-Pressure Round Plates. The circular geometry distributes stress evenly, preventing plate breakage that often occurs with square plates at high pressure.
Built Like a Tank
High pressure requires extreme structural integrity. We don’t just upgrade the pump; we redesign the whole machine:
- Massive Steel Frame: The main beams and head plate are thickened by 30-50% compared to standard models.
- High-Rating Hydraulics: Equipped with heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders capable of maintaining 25+ MPa closing force.
- Specialized Cloth: Uses high-strength, tight-weave filter cloth to withstand the pressure without tearing or blinding.

Ideal Applications: Proven Performance Where Others Fail

Municipal Wastewater
Deep dewatering of sewage sludge (often achieving <60% moisture without adding lime).

Mining & Tailings
Red mud (Bauxite residue). Coal slime. Kaolin clay (requires high pressure to become solid).

Industrial Sludge
Paper mill sludge. Textile dyeing sludge. Palm oil sludge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a special feed pump?
A: Yes. A standard centrifugal pump cannot reach 20 bar. You will need a High-Pressure Plunger Pump, Screw Pump, or Multi-Stage Centrifugal Pump. We supply complete packages with the correct pump matched to the press.
Q: What is the difference between High Pressure and Membrane Squeezing?
A: High Pressure Press uses the feed pump to push liquid through the cloth at high pressure. Membrane Press uses a balloon-like plate to squeeze the cake after feeding. For the ultimate dryness, we recommend a High-Pressure Membrane Filter Press (combining both technologies).
Q: Are round plates better than square plates?
A: For pressures above 20 bar, Round Plates are mechanically superior because they have no corners (stress points). However, square plates offer more filtration area per footprint. Our engineers will recommend the best shape for your pressure requirements.
